Dr. Brahma Singh born in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India on December 15,  1941.
Educated at Rashtriya High School -1957-59; Jat Inter College Muzaffarnagar-1959-61; GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar - 1961-66  and  Indian Agricultural Research Institute - 1966-70, B.Sc. 1964; M.Sc. 1966; Ph.D. 1970 respectively.

Present Position
Advisor,  World Noni Research Foundation, Chennai, India.
President, Indian Society For Protected Cultivation, New Delhi

Academic and Administrative Positions Held
He is an illustrious Agricultural Scientist of DRDO since, 1974; He was Director of two research laboratories of DRDO and Technical Director of Eight Life Science Laboratories at DRDO, head quarters, New Delhi.  After retirement in 2001, he was Emeritus Scientist at DRDO; General Manager, Uttaranchal Seeds and Tarai Development Corporation, Pantnagar and Officer on Special Duty, Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

Awards and Recognition
Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshmitra Award, 1995, Ministry of Forest and Environment, Govt. of India; and APSI International Plant Scientist Award 2002.He is a Fellow of  Indian Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India); Indian Society of Vegetable Sciences; Bio-ved Society; and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences India and Member of Indian Academy of Sciences Allahabad, India and Indian Science Congress.

Academic Achievements
He has expertise in Horticulture (vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants, Morinda, Jatropha, seabuckthorn, mushrooms, flowers, fruit, ornamental plants and landscape), Plant Biotechnology, Forestry, Arboriculture, Protected cultivation/greenhouses and fruit and vegetable value addition.

His publications are 47 research papers in National and International Journals of repute, 24 short research papers, one scientific review, 18 abstracts, 44 papers in seminars / symposia proceedings, 6 books, 6 technical bulletins and 11 popular articles and two coffee table books on Trees and Roses of Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. He is a pioneer in promoting Seabuckthorn in India.
