  3. Competitiveness of markets, impact of economic liberalization on production and marketing in agribusiness sector and policy research on viability of small farms and effect of globalization on commodity markets. completed 9 projects funded by different agencies
  4. as a Socio-Economist at the International Plant Genetics Research Institute worked on Conservation and Use of Native Tropical Fruit Species in Asia funded by the Asian Development Bank and spread over 10 countries in the Asian region - analyzing the current production and marketing system for selected fruits, documenting the traditional knowledge associated in maintaining diversity, valuation of fruit genetic resources, identifying socio economic factors for effective conservation of genetic resources, especially, through participatory approaches, analyzing problems in production and bringing the native fruits to the market chain and dissemination of information to achieve sustainable production system for native tropical fruits in Asia.
  5. Currently involved on a project on Emerging Food Chains in India funded by the International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington

Publications: 69 research articles in nationally and internationally reputed journals, 9 popular articles and 7 research reports, 3 PhDs and 10 MSc students
Consultancy: I have carried out research based consultancy for public and private sector organizations such as Coffee Board, Agricultural Finance Corporation, Commercial Banks and a large sized cooperative, namely, HOPCOMS Ltd. I also had the privilege of being on the Board (Board of Director) of two leading public limited agribusiness companies in India.
